And, as part of our Water-Wise, we had a trip to the Maritime Museum, and 6G had to write a recount about it. It was really fun, becuase we learnt so much!
Term 2 This term we are learning about European Counties, and our main European Country that we are learning about is Italy! . Also, we are learning about Ireland becuase that is what 6G are representing. Each class is representing something, and we are going to wear green and have so much fun!!! GO IRELANDGO!!!!
In writing, we are doing narrative writing, and we have been describing aliens and to do that, we had to first design on the template that Mz Poole gave us, and then colour them in, write about them, and then publish what we wrote. It has been really fun to do it, and I enjoyed every bit of it. Mine is here, and i hope that you enjoy it.
Also ,we have been learning how to describe a setting, by writing "where am I?"s. Here is mine. I hope you can guess what I am.( but it is at the bottom, but dont peek!!!!
And, we all miss Keremoana. She was an amazing friend, and was only the best. She was always an angel, and we will miss her dearly. Rest in Peace Keremoana. I hope that you have gone to a better place.
But, on a happy note, we are beginning to learn abou St John's Ambulance Service, like the year 5s. It has been really fun becuase today (27th June) we had to go around looking at pictures and and answering questions about it, and at the end, we had to role play with our groups a picture, and my group did pretty well. GO TEAM SHERBET!!!
And,also, yesterday (01st July), we had the St John talk, and it was SOOOO cool! We learnt how to put an unconcious person into the correct position and how to treat a bad blood wound, and for that, Ajay had to pretend to be cutting tomatos, and "cut himself". It was really cool to go to the St Johns thing, and the St John visiter (Jenny) was really funny, and told alot of stories that were used as a demonstration to what she was telling us. I enjoyed it heaps!!! :D
Also, we have all done a title page and voted on the best one, and,I WON WITH 9 VOTES!!!
Today (7th July) was hockey feild day, and it was really fun, but my team didnt win the games, but we only tied once. Anyway, I enjoyed it heaps, and at one point, I lost my mouth guard, and had to get a new one. But, after all that hard work, I found it again!!!! So now I have 2 mouth guards, but thats a good thing.........right???.........................
In Social Sciences, we have been doing task cards and also, we have been doing Inquirey Questions. My question is "How Is Italy Different To New Zealand?" It may seem easy, but, really, it is not, and that is because it has SO many answers, because it is such a broad question. But, I am ready to present, so I am tomorrow (13th July-today is the 12th July). Here it is...............
It is the last day of Term 2, and it has been another amazing term. I loved the auction and I got a 70cm rubber that is blue ( I LOVE IT!) and a pack of nice smelling gell pens. Goodbye for now, I will see you next term!!!!
Term 3 Hey everybody! How it going? I am so happy to be back to school and see all my AMAZING class. Well..... this term we are learning about energy. It has been so fun, and last week (week 1) a lady from Vector came and explained the diffrent types of energy that there are, and how we harness all of the energy that we need. Some of the energy types are plant, biomass, hydro power, electricity and geo theremal. We have learnt what biomass is, and it is mainly the waist that most people see as rubbish, and we talked about what are the pro's (good points) and the con's (bad points) to useing biomass. Now we are learning about hydro power, and so far, (we started today (17th August) and we haven't done much) we have looked at a work sheet, and talked about tides and how we harness that kind of energy. Also, we are going to be making something ( i have forgotten what it is called) in our groups so that we have some sort of understanding of how hydro energy works.
